You’ve cracked the Da Vinci code, now uncover the Vatican secret…

The deepest secrets are kept in the darkest places.

When ex-MI5 operative Joe Mason is sent to Rome to guard an elderly professor and his daughter, he thinks he’s in for an easy ride.

But on their first day in the Vatican secret archives, a masked assassin gains entry, shoots Joe’s client in cold blood and steals an ancient manuscript. Giving chase, Joe can’t imagine what could lie within those pages that would make someone willing to kill.

The search for answers leads Joe and his comrades in a race against time, across continents and into treacherous mountains. Only they have a hope of rescuing the Vatican Book of Secrets before a centuries-old enemy can succeed in bringing Rome – and the world as we know it – crashing down…

The Da Vinci Code meets Die Hard in this fast-paced, adrenaline-filled, action-adventure thriller. Perfect for fans of Lee Child and Clive Cussler, The Vatican Secret will have you turning the pages late into the night.

Kept reading pleasantly. And although I have experience as a grader, typing corrections and editing, etc., I cannot agree with the previous critique’s utter animosity toward such matters. Perhaps his copy was indeed filled with more errors than mine. Moreover, while he wanted detailed descriptions of the opulence to which passing reference was made, I would have found it downright cluttering the narrative and flipped very quickly to bypass it. I was reading a story to which such was NOT presented in a travel book nor further detail of the locations. It was for the action — which was truly satisfying although not up to my favorite the late Clive Cussler. Anyway, my only difficulty with story is my regarding its premises and action pursuits ENTIRELY fictional. Still it was a delightful read!

How does a book as poorly written as this make it this far? Dialogue was terrible. Not natural for native English speakers. What time is 0.21am? You mean 0021hrs? Spelling errors. Don’t tell me the room was opulent, describe what makes it opulent. Wasted my money. I swear the reviewers are all paid and they didn’t read the book. Honestly, I couldn’t read the book either because it was so bad. Wish I could say something positive.

This is not The DaVinci Code; not even close. I dragged myself to the end. So much angst and personal drama. I got it, they were all broken and looking for redemption. Not the best writing either, just meh.

It kept me reading all night. Very action packed. Good settings and character development.
  • Too many long winded chases scenes!

Too many long chases throughout the story. It became frustrating and boring to read. The plot is very much another DaVinci Code story, which was interesting and plausible. But the writing was way too long winded when it came to a huge number of chase scenes, each ending with impossible miraculous escapes by the central characters. I will not read any other books by this author, nor will I recommend his books to anyone else. His writing style will leave you exhausted.
